Hakini Mudra (The Gesture for the Mind and Concentration)

Description and Method

Hakini is considered the presiding deity of the Ajna Chakra (Third Eye Chakra) located between the eyebrows. To perform this mudra, simply bring the tips of all the fingers of both hands together so that they touch each other. There are no specific time constraints for this practice; it can be done whenever convenient.
When you need to remember something, hold this mudra and look upward with your eyes. While inhaling, touch the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth (behind the upper gums), and while exhaling, let your tongue relax downward. Following this, take deep, steady breaths.

Benefits

  • Consistent practice of Hakini Mudra significantly boosts and sharpens your memory power.
  • It is highly beneficial when you need to contemplate deeply on any subject, design new projects or strategies, or recall information you have previously read.
  • According to researchers, this mudra establishes an excellent balance between the left and right hemispheres of the brain. It assists in regulating your breathing and infuses the brain with renewed energy and vitality.
