Kundalinee Mudra

Description

First, form a loose fist with both your hands. Then, insert your left index finger into the center of the right fist from below. Press the tip of your right thumb onto the tip of the left index finger. Hold this hand posture as low as possible in front of your lower abdomen. It is ideal to practice this mudra three times a day for 15 minutes each session.

Benefits

This mudra is primarily helpful in awakening or keeping the latent sexual energy (Kundalini) active within us.

Principle and Symbolism: This represents the union of two opposing forces—feminine and masculine. Furthermore, it symbolizes the merger of the individual soul (Jivatma) into the Supreme Soul (Paramatma). Here, the four fingers of the right hand represent the external world visible to us, while the left index finger symbolizes our mind and soul. Similarly, the thumb represents divinity or the Supreme Being.
